Why don't you deliver?

Local delivery companies or 'mudanças' operate on high hourly rates and there's limited nationwide courier operators. I'm exploring options for national and deliveries to Spain, and hope in the future to offer a quality delivery service with reasonable charges. But in the meantime all furniture must to be collected from my studio in Porto. Some home decor/homeware pieces may be available for shipping, please check the listing as it will be specified.

Due to Brexit and increased taxes, charges, long shipping times, I do not ship any items to the UK sadly.

Please note any item shipped, is subject to international and national postal systems, as such shipping times can vary.

Can I collect or use a courier?

Yes, collection is from Rua de Miguel Bombarda 197 -1, 4050-381, Porto (access is via 7 Clean laundry). Please note, there is both payable on street parking and paid underground car parking on Rua de Miguel Bombarda.

Be advised access to my studio entails steps, so lifting is required. Due to their size and to protect the furniture, I suggest bringing something to wrap/protect it during transportation. For smaller items, a variety of packaging such as bubble wrap or cardboard, will be used, most of these are being reused and can be recycled where possible.

Yes, you can arrange to have your own courier collect on your behalf. However, please ensure they wrap and protect the piece for transportation as this will not be done by Alma Nova Porto. On delivery, ensure you check for any damage in front of the courier and before they leave as any damages identified afterwards will not be refunded. Please see more details regarding 'Refunds' below.

Do you offer Refunds?
  • Home Decor: Alma Nova Porto of course wants you to be happy with its products. So, if you change your mind, you can return your home decor product within 14 days for either an exchange or store credit. Any price difference with exchanges will be credited or need to be paid for. Store credit will be valid for 2 months (from the date of issue). The item will need to be returned back in the original condition and inspected for any damage before the store credit is issued. If the item is not returned in its original state, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value and this will be reflected in the store credit value. Any delivery costs incurred including returns are the responsibility of the buyer and will not be refunded.
  • Commission Pieces: There are no refunds on commission work. If you are not happy with the furniture, please contact me within 7 days of receiving the item to deal with any issues. I will do all I can to make corrections and for you to love the piece. Any transport costs incurred are the responsibility of the buyer and are not refundable.
  • Shop sold furniture: may be returned at the buyers expense within 30 days. Any delivery fee is not refundable only the purchase cost. For items damaged in transit I require photographs of the piece and packaging as it is received. It's essential pieces are unpacked in front of the courier and before they leave. Any damage caused by the delivery that is discovered after that point cannot be part of a damages claim. Items damaged after delivery cannot be returned although I will endeavour to fix at a reasonable cost.

  • Workshops: Products produced in a workshop are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend a workshop, please advise me immediately prior to the date at contact.almanovaporto@gmail.com, where a new date can be reserve or a refund is issued. If you fail to advise in advance or do not show up to the workshop, no refund will be issued.
